What DSF is
Dubai Shopping Festival is an annual citywide festival organised by Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment, part of Dubai's Department of Economy and Tourism. It mixes retail promotions with events, concerts, raffles and fireworks, and it pulls residents and tourists out into the city in the coolest weeks of the year.
The 31st edition ran for 38 days, from 5 December 2025 to 11 January 2026, with nightly drone shows at Bluewaters and The Beach at JBR, New Year's Eve fireworks at several locations, and prize draws and "scan and win" style promotions across retailers. The 2024 to 2025 edition started on 6 December 2024.
Dates for the 2026 to 2027 season
At the time of writing (October 2026), the organisers had not announced dates for the next edition. Based on recent years, an early-December start running into January is the likely window, but plan around that as an expectation and lock your dates only once the official announcement is out.
Where small businesses fit in
Most of the official spotlight goes to malls and big brands. Small businesses benefit indirectly: more people are out shopping, more visitors are in the city, and "deal-seeking" is the mood of the season. You don't need an official partnership to run a well-timed offer, but you do need to be clear and honest about what you are.

Opportunities by business type
| Business | What to do | What to watch |
|---|---|---|
| Retail and e-commerce | Run season-timed offers and bundles; push gift sets around New Year | Stock levels and delivery times when couriers are busy |
| Food and hospitality | Promote near event locations; offer pre- and post-event deals | Staffing for evening peaks |
| Services (salons, fitness, clinics) | Sell gift vouchers and packages for January | Regulated sectors still need approved claims |
| B2B | Quieter season; good time for content and planning | Decision-makers travel over the holidays |
| Tourism and experiences | Target visitors already in the city | Language and payment options for tourists |
Designing an offer that works
The season is noisy, so a vague "up to 50% off selected items" gets lost. The offers I see work best for small businesses are simple, specific and easy to act on: a named bundle, a gift voucher with a bonus, or a fixed price for a popular service. Put an end date on it that matches the season, and make the next step obvious, whether that's a WhatsApp message, a booking link or directions to the shop.
If you sell online, make sure the landing page is ready before you spend on ads. My e-commerce marketing guide for the UAE covers the basics of checkout and delivery messaging.

Content that gets found
- "What's on near us" posts that mention events close to your location.
- Gift guides built around your own products or services.
- Short videos of the shop or venue during the season, filmed with care for other people's privacy.
- Updates on your Google Business Profile, which help with local searches from visitors.
Retargeting is useful here too. Many people browse during the festival and buy later, so a small budget aimed at recent visitors often pays back. See retargeting in the UAE.
Trademark caution
"Dubai Shopping Festival" and its logo belong to the organisers. Describe your offer as timed with the season rather than implying official partnership unless you are one.
How to tell if it worked
Compare the festival weeks with the same number of weeks before it, and track enquiries, orders and average order value rather than just reach. Note which channel brought the buyers. If you want help planning a seasonal push as a fixed-scope project, see my product launch marketing in Dubai page.
