Why TikTok in the UAE

TikTok's advertising tools indicated around 12.5 million users aged 18 and above in the UAE in late 2025, according to DataReportal. Ad audience figures aren't the same as unique people, but the point stands: it's a mainstream platform here, not a teenage niche. Organic reach is still possible for new accounts with good content, because the For You feed shows videos to people who don't follow you yet.

That's the main difference from Instagram. On TikTok, each video is judged on its own. A new account with one strong video can reach more people than an established account with a weak one, which makes it a fair place to start.

Decide who is on camera

Faceless brand accounts can work, but the brands I see grow fastest usually have a recognisable person: the founder, a team member or a regular creator. Choose someone who is comfortable talking, available every week and likely to stay. If no one fits, a product-led account built around process and demonstration is the next best option.

Pick three content pillars

  • Teach: quick tips related to what you sell, answered in under a minute.
  • Show: behind the scenes, process, before and after (within your industry's rules).
  • Personality: the people, the city, the funny moments of running a business in Dubai.

Social and content · Dubai

First month

Week 1

Research

Save 20 videos in your niche that perform well. Note the hooks and formats.

Week 2

Batch

Film 10 to 12 short videos in one session.

Week 3

Post

Post three to five times a week. Reply to every comment.

Week 4

Review

Double down on the formats that held attention.

In week 1, don't just watch: write down the first sentence of each video you saved. Hooks are a pattern you can learn. In week 4, look at average watch time and how many people watched to the end for each video. Those numbers tell you more than likes.

Trends can give a new account a lift, but only when you can join them in a way that still says something about your business. A trending sound behind a useful tip is a good use of a trend. A dance that has nothing to do with what you sell rarely brings customers. Business accounts also have more limited music options than personal accounts, so check that the sound you want is available for commercial use.

Filming in public in the UAE

UAE privacy law is strict. Article 44 of Federal Decree-Law No. 34 of 2021 makes it an offence to capture or publish images of people without their consent, with penalties reported to include fines of AED 150,000 to AED 500,000. Film your team and willing customers, keep bystanders out of shot or unrecognisable, and get written consent from anyone who features. This is general guidance, not legal advice.

Replying and community

Comments are part of the content on TikTok. Reply to every early comment, answer good questions with a new video, and pin the comment that explains how to buy or book. Accounts that talk back tend to build a loyal audience faster than accounts that only broadcast.

What to measure

  • Average watch time and completion rate per video.
  • Profile visits and follows that come from a video.
  • Comments that ask about price, location or booking.
  • Enquiries that mention TikTok, tracked by asking new customers.

From organic to ads

Your best organic videos are your best ad candidates. See TikTok ads in the UAE. For a weekly filming system, see short-form video on a small budget, and if you plan to pay creators, read the UAE advertiser permit rules first.

Questions people ask

Three to five times a week is a good starting rhythm for most brands.
Trends can help, but useful and entertaining content in your niche matters more.
Give it at least a month of consistent posting before judging, and judge on watch time and enquiries, not followers.
Only with their consent. UAE law treats capturing or publishing someone's image without consent as a privacy offence, so get permission in writing.
Usually yes, for analytics and ad access, but note that business accounts have a more limited music library.
